This is a TED Talk video I found super insightful into the way we learn. As opposed to taking "10,000 hours" to learn something new, the speaker talks about it only taking 20 hours to being competent enough to perform something new.

As I talk with friends & clients, I often hear how we’re all deluged with information daily. When it comes to financial stuff, a lot of the information isn’t the least bit useful. The main goal of financial media often seems to be to get us to click a link or stay glued to a screen using frenzied news headlines and stories.
